The General Procurement organization is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing spend for all non-production goods or services used internally by Lenovo. Major operating expense categories: RD, marketing, and workforce. The General Procurement team is responsible for leading the following activities: 
1. Working with business unit/budget owner (our internal Lenovo stakeholders), on appropriate spending strategy, including industry best practices, category/market trend analysis, and supplier capabilities;
2. Appropriately selecting Supplier sources based on driving competitive sourcing activities;
3. Forming contracts with selected Suppliers to help ensure both deliverables and risk avoidance;
4. Managing Supplier performance via stakeholder feedback and performance-based metrics;
5. Ensuring appropriate business controls are in place to protect Lenovo.
Job Responsibilities:
As a sourcing professional, this candidate will take the lead in multi-category indirect procurement management, responsible for developing and executing category management strategies, optimizing end-to-end sourcing processes for non-production goods and services across various categories. He/she should have extensive experience in indirect procurement covering multiple categories, proactively engage internal stakeholders to provide strategic sourcing solutions, drive high-impact procurement initiatives, and act as the core commercial lead for cross-category spend optimization and supplier ecosystem management.
The candidate will be responsible for six (6) primary business metrics:
1. Manage and optimize Lenovo’s cross-category spend with external suppliers, generating significant Procurement Value-Add through strategic sourcing and category management;
2. Drive Customer Satisfaction (Serviceability) for internal executives and operations teams via scientific supplier selection, category strategy alignment, and proactive engagement;
3. Ensure robust Business Controls throughout sourcing, contracting, spending, and supplier management processes;
4. Develop and promote best practices, lead transformation initiatives to achieve continuous improvement in category procurement efficiency and effectiveness;
5. Initiate and optimize procure-to-pay processes for non-strategic purchases, enhancing overall procurement operational efficiency;
6. Formulate and implement category management strategies to optimize category structure, reduce supply chain risks, and improve long-term supply stability.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will exhibit the following abilities:
1. Analytics -- Proficient in competitive bid analysis, cost analysis, fair-value analysis, and scenario modeling, with the ability to translate data into category strategy insights;
2. Category Management -- Capable of developing and executing category management strategies, analyzing category lifecycle, and optimizing category procurement mix across multiple indirect categories;
3. Problem solving -- Ability to understand core objectives, identify key obstacles, conduct in-depth root cause analysis, mitigate cross-category supply risks, and develop feasible alternative solutions;
4. Negotiation -- Expertise in conducting fact-based, high-level negotiations with suppliers, driving favorable commercial terms for cross-category collaborations;
5. Team Collaboration -- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, drive cross-functional and cross-regional work successfully in a matrix team environment;
6. Independence -- Strong self-management ability to complete complex tasks and strategic initiatives with minimal supervision;
7. Fact-seeking -- Proactive in conducting in-depth research on goods/services across multiple categories to support strategy development and negotiation advantages;
8. Project Management -- Excellent ability to prioritize strategic and operational activities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maximize overall procurement value.
Job Requirements:
1. Extensive indirect procurement experience covering multiple categories/ Asian Countries demand is plus;
2. Proven track record in category management strategy development and execution is highly desirable;
3. Professional experience in spend management and strategic sourcing is required;
4. Bachelors Degree at least;
5. MBA candidates are preferred, particularly those with business experience in procurement, supply chain, or related fields;
6. Exceptional English proficiency -- Fluent in oral and written English, capable of using English as the primary working language for business negotiations, document drafting, and cross-regional/cross-departmental communication.
